Kevin — Costa Rica travel planner in Puriscal
Living in the Puriscal region since 2022 · 100+ itineraries · 43 reviews, 5/5

French. Polish. Tico at heart.

I came to Costa Rica and the Pura Vida got me — the land, the people, the pace of life. Five years later I have a farm in the countryside, I am part of a local community, and have a knowledge of this country that only comes from truly living it. That's who you're working with.

I built a life here first.

This story starts in 2020, at the beginning of a pandemic, when most people were cancelling trips and I was boarding a plane to Costa Rica for three weeks — a trip I'd been planning for months, and I wasn't going to let a virus stop me.

Kevin — Costa Rica travel planner in Puriscal

I'm a mechanical engineer by training. I plan things thoroughly. So I spent a long time before that first trip digging past the obvious — and found a Costa Rica that simply doesn't appear on most travel sites. I fell in love immediately.

I went back the following year — partly to make sure I hadn't imagined it, that it was not just the impression of a first dream holiday. After this second trip, I knew Costa Rica could become home. In 2022 I took a one-way ticket.

I bought a farm in the Puriscal region, with a coffee plantation and a guesthouse. Somewhere along the way, I found new co-tenants — dogs, a cat, cows and chickens. And a community that welcomed me as one of their own.

What kept me here goes well beyond the landscapes and the climate. Costa Rica surprised me in ways I hadn't expected — the stability, the quality of life, its good economy, healthcare system... The deeper I went, the more I found: the culture, the people, the traditions, the extraordinary biodiversity. The feeling that no matter how long you stay, there's always something new to discover. I'm a curious person by nature. I learn something new here every day, and sharing that is at the heart of what I do.

That curiosity doesn't stop at my farm gate. Five years of living here, speaking Spanish with locals, driving every region, building relationships with neighbors, guides and hotel owners — it all goes into every plan I build. Way beyond a list of places — when to go, in what order, with whom, and why. The kind of detail that only comes from someone who lives the country, not just visits it. I work in English, French, Polish and Spanish — whichever is most natural for you.

Before Costa Planner, I ran OK Kostaryka — a travel planning service for Polish tourists. 43 reviews. Every one of them 5 stars. Over 100 custom itineraries built. I closed it to start fresh, build wider, and serve travelers from all over the world.

My favorite part of this job isn't just the planning. It's the people — fellow travelers who love Costa Rica as much as I do, or are about to. The conversations, the shared discoveries, the moment someone sees Costa Rica for the first time and understands why I never left. And then the message from the departure terminal: "Kevin, thank you, best trip of my life." That's the real reward.

What I bring to your trip

I live here — really

Puriscal region, since 2022. I own a farm with a coffee plantation, fruit trees, and a guesthouse. I grow and roast my own coffee, practice permaculture, and have cows and chickens. This isn't a brand story — it's Tuesday.

100% Tico partners

Every hotel, guide, car rental, and activity operator I work with is Costa Rican. Built personally over 5 years — people I know, trust, and can call right now. Because I work directly with local owners, most accommodations are pay-on-arrival. No prepayment, no money lost if plans change.

Proven track record — 43 reviews, 5/5

Under my previous company OK Costa Rica, I built 100+ itineraries for Polish travelers. Every review is 5 stars. I closed that chapter to build Costa Planner — wider, stronger, for international travelers.

Four languages

I work in English, French, Polish, and Spanish — whichever is most natural for you. Your itinerary, your review call, your support while you travel.

The Real Costa Rica

I avoid destinations that have been swallowed by mass tourism, where the Pura Vida has long gone. I recommend places that remind you why you chose Costa Rica — local restaurants, farmers markets, villages lost in the valleys, hidden beaches, parks and reserves where it's just you and the forest.

Farmer. Engineer.

I live between two worlds. On the farm, I manage the animals, keep the infrastructure running, and practice permaculture. Off it, I am a mechanical engineer — building trade links between Costa Rica and European markets. This gives me knowledge of this country well beyond tourism: the economy, the industries, the investment landscape.

Nature knows what to do. Sometimes you just have to let it be.
