I'm Kevin. I live in Costa Rica — and I plan trips for people who want to do it independently.
I'm French-Polish and I moved to the Puriscal region of Costa Rica in 2021. I live in a remote area, far from the tourist trail — and that's exactly the point. I came for the nature, but I stayed for the people and the culture.
Over the past few years I've built more than 100 custom itineraries for independent travelers — couples on honeymoon, families with kids, groups of friends, solo adventurers. All of them European. All of them wanting something more than Jacó and Tamarindo.
Why I do this
Most travelers who visit Costa Rica end up in the same five places because that's what Google shows them. They stay in chain hotels, join tour groups, and come home having seen a sanitized version of a country that is genuinely extraordinary if you know where to look.
I know where to look. I know the lodges where the owners greet you by name. I know which bus gets you to a remote beach that isn't on any list. I know that the Quetzal in Monteverde is most visible in February — not April — and that the best wildlife in Corcovado happens at 5:30am near the river bend.
I built Costa Planner because I believe independent travel is better travel. You move at your own pace. You meet real people. You come home with stories instead of just photos.
My job is simple: give you the plan that makes that possible — without you spending 40 hours researching a country you've never been to.

I live here
I'm based in the Puriscal region — one of the most authentically Costa Rican areas in the country. I don't plan trips from an office in Europe. I walk out my door into Costa Rica every day.

I don't send people to Jacó. I find the places that remind you why you booked the trip — local sodas, hidden beaches, morning bird walks where it's just you and the forest.
